The PR saddles feature a wider width, ranging from 140-145mm, and the highest padding 40-60, making it perfect for riders in a slightly more relaxed, upright position.
Think Grand Fondo, Century and Touring ride setups with less rotation in the hips, and most of the riders weight is placed on the seat bones.
Being a noseless saddle, it can still accommodate the rider comfortably in the drops.
Besides long distance athletes, the PR series is very popular with Triathletes because of the high padding, which makes up for the lack a proper chamois in their Tri Suits.
The PR series is priced lower than the other Performance Series saddles, but because of this, ISM does not offer them as a Demo.
ISM - PS Series
PS - Performance Short, is the root of ISM and has been around for about 15 years.
This line up features a short nose, and is preferred by cyclist who tend to lock themselves down in one position on the saddle, though it does allow for some minor movements.
A hump in the rear portion of the saddle helps rotate the cyclist's hips, improving power and muscle engagement, which explains why it is largely loved by Bike Fitters, Triathletes, Track cyclists and Time Trialists.
The PS series is right smack in the middle in terms of widths, and works for most riders, triathletes and road cyclists alike.
The PS 2.0 is the saddle we would recommend to anyone who is unsure of where to begin.
Demo the PS 2.0, and you’ll get a better idea if you would like a narrower (PN), longer (PL), or wider (PR) chassis.
An added feature on the PS Series is a transition hook on the rear.
ISM - PL Series
PL - Performance Long. Saddles in this line up have a long 275mm chassis.
This allows for superb Fore-Aft movement.
Who is this for? If you tend to move rearward, rolling your hips back to tackle a climb. OR.
If you move forward on the saddle to accelerate the bike on a breakaway, before moving back to the original position once the bike is up to speed.
Then these saddles are for you.
ISM - PN Series
PN - Performance Narrow is the latest series launched by ISM.
Its designed with maximum thigh and hamstring clearance in mind.
It works best with very aggressive riding positions, where the hips are rotated for most of the ride, ie riding in the drops / aero position.
This places most of the weight on the riders pubic rami (frontal portion of the hip) and very little support is needed at the seat bones.
