As such, each model in the Foundation Collection was designed for Best-in-Class Performance, handcrafted in Ogden, Utah, and like all Enve Products, exists to improve the ride experience.

While staying true to their roots, the foundation rims are 100% handmade, in-house in their US-Factory based in Ogden, Utah. They boast many of the same Enve characteristics as their premium cousins in the SES line up, such as no rider weight limit, 5 year factory warranty and their Incidental Damage Coverage - despite their 40% price difference.

Quick Compare - Weight

"In this (mid depth) quick compare, there are 2 wheelsets that standout.

The DT Swiss ARC 1400 50mm performs pretty well in terms of depth to weight.
Another key feature would be their renown DT 240 EXP hubset with a 36T-star ratchet.

The Enve Foundation wheelset holds its own, just barely lighter, and promises 10% more points of engagament with its ID360 Drive, 40T-star ratchet engagement system. It utilizes high quality, and extremely durable NTN-bearings from Japan while its lightweight hubshell and internals are made in Europe.

While both wheels are similar in engagement and weight, a conclusion is easily drawn when we take price point and value into consideration.
The US-made Enve truly stands out from its Asian-made competitor which retails at an additional USD900 - a premium, well into Chris King Territory.

Another upgrade consideration would be to rebuild the Foundation 45s with Sapim CX Ray spokes which should shed around 42-47grams, taking it to sub 1.5"
