The most challenging weather and conditions.

A directional arrow-shaped tread pattern with overlapping central knobs guarantees fast rolling, exceptional grip and self-cleaning properties. It features a wide tread and the durable flexible Jubena protection layer on the sidewalls offering protection from stones. A Puncture proof ply under the tread minimizes the risk of punctures and contributes to the overall reliability of the tyre. The high TPI casing construction, together with the soft tread compound, smoothes out any surface and prevents the tyre from bouncing and maintains traction on uneven surfaces. The Swampero is also made to be long lasting and guarantees high mileage.

From the Curator;

Swampero
"The tire for challenging weather and conditions, it trades some rolling resistance for higher grip and deeper bite. Recommended for wet, muddy conditions or highly technical courses where grip translates to speed."

"TUFO - Never has a tyre company launched 3 models of gravel tires, ALL scoring 5/5 and highly recommended verdicts on independent tester, Bicycle Rolling Resistance. They have also been awarded back to back Editors choice on Bike Rumor in the gravel segment, on ALL models.

The TUFO's are extremely light, topping the weight chart.

For reference, a Pirelli - Cinturato Gravel S is 110grams, heavier.
PER TIRE. Of the same size. (40mm)

All TUFO Tires are proudly Made in the Czech Republic."

RATING: 5.0 / 5
TEST VERDICT:
Highly Recommended

"Like the Gravel Thundero and Speedero, the Gravel Swampero performs very strong in nearly all of our tests. Of course, it's a bit slower rolling as the tread pattern simply isn't made to provide the absolute lowest rolling resistance. The main weakness with the Tufo gravel bike tires seems to be in the puncture resistance of the tread, as you'll have to rely on tubeless sealant to seal small punctures.

We also see the wet grip on a hard surface is much lower than the Speedero and Thundero, which we attribute to the higher and wider spaced knobs, which results in more flexing and reduced contact area that both decrease grip on a hard surface. The grip should be much better on softer surfaces where the knobs can dig into the surface.

All three of Tufo's gravel bike tires are excellent choices, and it will be up to the individual and the expected conditions to decide which will best suit their needs."

<BikeRumor> - Editors Choice 2021

EDITOR’S CHOICE (GRAVEL) – Gravel tires: TUFO Swampero & Speedero
TUFO’s gravel tires got even better this autumn with the introduction of a third tread pattern and additional sizes. On top of the original fast-rolling 40mm  Thundero &  Speedero comes an all-new proper knobby Swampero inspired by TUFO’s long-running Cubus cyclocross mud tire tread profile. They’re still reasonably light, surprisingly supple for a vulcanized nylon construction that seals tubeless almost without need for sealant, and still cheap at just SGD 85 a pop.

Now all three variants come in both 700c x 40mm & 36mm sizes, and both tan or black walls. Why make a smaller 36mm size when gravel is going bigger with 45mm tires on many adventure bikes? Cyclocross bikes. Tufo has deep roots in cross, and a 40mm tire won’t fit in many existing CX bikes. But a 36mm gravel tire will, bring more mixed-surface versatility to tons of old cyclocross bikes that might have been feeling a bit out of touch in recent years.

<Bike Radar> - TUFO Gravel Tyres

Czech tyre manufacturer Tufo had a legendary reputation in the past for tubular cyclocross tyres. It now has a whole range of tubeless gravel tyres that are claimed to enjoy the same low weight and fast rolling the ‘cross tyres were famed for.

Starting with the wet-weather specific Swampero, this 40mm-wide tyre features a directional arrowhead tread pattern with well-spaced blocks. At 4mm-deep, they should offer plenty of bite in sloppy conditions
